PGA Tour 2K25 Season 2 Update Adds Challenges Mode, St. Andrews

PGA Tour 2K25 has officially launched its second season, bringing a range of updates designed by developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games to enhance the gameplay experience for golf enthusiasts.

The standout addition this season is the new Challenges mode. This innovative mode blends complex golf scenarios with elements reminiscent of role-playing games. Players begin on a map and are free to choose their own path to complete various challenges and earn rewards. While staying true to authentic golf simulation, some missions introduce a more arcade-like feel to offer varied gameplay.

These scenarios require players to meet specific criteria, often influenced by unique modifiers that can either assist or obstruct their progress. For instance, a challenge might involve guiding a shot precisely through a series of hovering rings.

A number of challenges will draw inspiration from iconic moments in golf history, tasking players with replicating legendary shots. HB Studios intends to continuously update and add new content to the Challenges mode in subsequent seasons. Furthermore, a completely new course built specifically for this mode, developed in partnership with Charles Schwab, is scheduled for release in the near future.

In addition to the Challenges mode, Season 2 introduces the world-renowned Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. The update also provides access to a wealth of new unlockable items, including cosmetic gear and performance enhancements. Among the new features is a distinct shot type known as the Long Flop. This shot offers slightly more power than a standard Flop Shot but maintains a similar high trajectory, spin, and roll, making it an excellent option for adjusting shots that come up just shy of the target.
