NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning is adding “team owner” to his distinguished resume. The two-time Super Bowl champion has joined the ownership group of Denver`s NWSL expansion franchise, which is set to begin play in 2026. Manning, who concluded his NFL career with the Denver Broncos over four seasons, is the latest high-profile personality to invest in women`s soccer, following his brother Eli Manning, a minority owner of Gotham FC.
“It`s a real honor to be part of something so meaningful to the Colorado community,” Peyton Manning commented in a press release. “I`m proud to support the growth of women`s sports and eager to help build a club that our city and state can truly support and get behind.”
Peyton Manning is joining a growing and diverse group of owners for the Denver NWSL team, spearheaded by controlling owner Rob Cohen. The ownership roster also includes investors such as Ariel Investments` Project Level, Jon-Erik Borgen, Kaia Borgen Moritz, Neelima Joshi, Dhiren Jhaveri, Molly Coors, and Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin. This collective has emphasized a commitment to developing one of the most inclusive and community-focused clubs in professional soccer.
“Peyton`s legacy as both a champion and a leader is unmatched,” stated Cohen in the release. “His influence on Colorado sports is unparalleled, and we are incredibly fortunate to have him as a partner. He contributes passion, valuable insights, and deep local connections – all elements that will significantly aid in shaping the future of Denver NWSL.”
Since retiring from the NFL in 2016, Peyton Manning has maintained a prominent presence in the sports and entertainment sectors. He established Omaha Productions, known for popular alternative broadcasts like the `ManningCast` on ESPN, and regularly appears on television in various hosting and endorsement capacities. Manning has also remained engaged with football, offering mentorship to young quarterbacks and participating in league activities, while simultaneously expanding his involvement in business and philanthropic efforts.
