Liverpool Football Club has officially announced the signing of a new contract with Mohamed Salah, ensuring the Egyptian star will remain at Anfield beyond the 2024-25 season. While Salah`s previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2025, recent reports of a contract extension have now been confirmed. This news follows a similar pattern to that of Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, who is also expected to finalize a new deal soon.

The agreement sees Salah commit to Liverpool for at least two more years. Speaking to the club`s official website, Salah expressed his enthusiasm: “I`m very excited. We have a fantastic team, and I believe we have the opportunity to win more trophies and enjoy success together. I’ve had some of my best years here, and I`m hoping for even more in the future. I`m very happy to continue at Liverpool. I believe we can achieve great things and I ask the fans to keep supporting us.”

Mohamed Salah`s contribution to Liverpool has been immense. He currently ranks third in Liverpool`s all-time scoring charts with 243 goals in 394 appearances. During his time at the club, he has achieved numerous individual accolades, including three Premier League Golden Boots, two PFA Players` Player of the Year awards, and two FWA Footballer of the Year awards.

Together with Virgil van Dijk, Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool`s success, winning seven trophies, including the Premier League title in the 2019-20 season and the UEFA Champions League in 2019, along with multiple domestic cup titles. Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017 for approximately $40 million, Salah has become a club legend. Van Dijk, who joined in 2018 from Southampton for around $80 million, has also been a key figure, contributing significantly in defense and scoring 28 goals in 293 games.
