Reports indicate Julius Randle is set to remain with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 30-year-old forward is expected to sign a new three-year contract valued at $100 million, according to ESPN. The agreement reportedly includes a player option for the third year.
Randle joined the Timberwolves in October as part of the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks. In his debut season with Minnesota, he averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, shooting 49% from the field. He was one of only nine players last season to achieve averages of at least 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
During the playoffs, Randle scored 22 points or more in 11 out of 15 games. He also became only the second player in franchise history to record a triple-double in the postseason, achieving 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Golden State Warriors.
The former No. 7 overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014, Randle has earned three NBA All-Star selections and two All-NBA team honors. Minnesota has committed substantial financial resources to its frontcourt, now having three big men with contracts exceeding $100 million, including Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels. The team also used their 2025 NBA Draft picks on centers, selecting Joan Beringer (France) at No. 17 and Rocco Zikarsky (Australia) at No. 45.
