Tennis star Coco Gauff is stepping up her style game on and off the court this spring and summer. The World No. 4 has partnered with her apparel sponsor New Balance and the renowned fashion house Miu Miu for an exclusive capsule collection.
The 2023 US Open winner unveiled this capsule collection with both brands on Wednesday. This collection is part of New Balance`s existing partnership with Miu Miu, the Italian luxury label established in 1993 by Miuccia Prada. Gauff has previously worn Miu Miu designs off-court, including custom outfits for the Oscars in Los Angeles last month and a notable gown for her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot. This new line, however, blends athletic performance with street style, designed to outfit Gauff from head to toe at specific Hologic WTA Tour tournaments.
Gauff will showcase three distinct, high-fashion ensembles at three different tournaments: the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Berlin in June, and Cincinnati in August. Each match kit will feature colors inspired by the location or event.
For her appearance in Rome on the crushed-brick clay courts, Gauff will sport “classically elegant” navy and white with red details. In Berlin, she`ll switch to green and white accented with sky blue for the grass courts. Returning to the US for the Cincinnati tournament, which she won two years ago, her look will combine fitting royal blue with more red accents.
Each outfit will be completed with matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will also wear a custom, co-branded version of her signature New Balance shoe, the Coco CG2, which has been reimagined specifically for this collection by both New Balance and Miu Miu.
Speaking to Vogue about the launch, Gauff, who has been sponsored by New Balance since 2018, said, `I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point.` She added, `We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?“
The complete New Balance x Miu Miu collection featuring Coco Gauff will be available for a limited time. It is scheduled to be released to the public on September 10, shortly after the US Open concludes.
