Formula 1 2026 Calendar: Madrid GP Debuts, Imola Dropped

Formula 1 has unveiled its race calendar for the 2026 season. This schedule features the debut of a Grand Prix in Madrid, while the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola has been removed.

The FIA, motorsport`s governing body, approved the 24-race calendar during a World Motor Sport Council meeting.

The new race in Madrid was initially announced in 2024, but its inclusion on the official calendar is still pending FIA circuit homologation.

Imola, which hosted the final race under its current agreement in May, makes way for Madrid, maintaining F1`s target of 24 events.

Besides Madrid`s debut, the Monaco Grand Prix date has shifted from late May to early June, avoiding a conflict with the Indianapolis 500.

The Canadian Grand Prix has also moved to a new slot in late May, allowing equipment used at the Miami Grand Prix to stay in North America, reducing logistics.

The season begins on March 8 in Australia and spans 10 months, concluding with the final race in Abu Dhabi on December 6.

The 2026 season introduces new regulations, including revised hybrid engines that utilize a 50% battery power and 50% internal combustion split, running on sustainable fuel.

This season will also see Cadillac join as an 11th team, Sauber become Audi, and Ford partner with Red Bull as an engine supplier.

The United States retains three races: the Miami Grand Prix on May 3, the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on October 25, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 21.
