EA Sports F1 25 preview: My Team Revamped

The upcoming EA Sports F1 25 promises to deliver a refined and authentic racing experience for hardcore Formula 1 enthusiasts. During a visit to Codemasters, developers shared exciting details about new features and improvements in F1 25.

My Team mode, a fan-favorite management feature, is undergoing significant changes. Previously, players could act as both driver and team owner. Now, the focus shifts to team ownership, requiring strategic resource allocation between two drivers. While you`ll still race in competitions as your chosen driver with trained skills, the core management experience is deepened.

Creative director Gavin Cooper explains, `The owner-driver model wasn`t realistic to modern F1. Current teams operate with dedicated owners and drivers.` This change aims for greater authenticity.

Accolades, previously exclusive to Driver Career, are now integrated into My Team, influencing Fan Rating and Team Rivalries. These ratings add complexity to team management, affecting team perception and driver contract negotiations.

The Team HQ adds an off-track challenge to EA Sports F1 25.

The new Team HQ introduces another layer of strategic depth. Balancing upgrade costs, driver performance, and budget caps is crucial. Rapid upgrades can lead to unsustainable workforce expenses. Detailed HQ upgrades unlock driver skills and perks, and driver choices impact team perception and contract terms.

F1 25`s management aspects are more detailed and diverse, offering hardcore fans greater control. On-track gameplay has also been enhanced.

Senior creative director Lee Mather notes, `Feedback from F1 24, lessons from F1 23, community input, esports driver interactions, and creative council feedback have driven significant progress. This year`s focus is on car balance – low-speed grip, high-speed aero – promising a step forward in racing experience.`
