Car Strikes Crowd Outside Barcelona-Espanyol Match

An incident occurred outside the RCDE Stadium during Barcelona`s match against Espanyol on Thursday when a car drove into a group of people.

At least eight individuals sustained minor injuries in the event, which local authorities have classified as an accident.

The vehicle struck supporters during the initial minutes of the game. Spectators inside the stadium became aware and attempted to alert the referee, with some shouting and even entering the pitch area to gain attention, causing a temporary pause in the match.

Authorities confirmed the injuries were not serious and ruled out an intentional attack. Law enforcement also issued assurances that those inside the stadium were not in danger.

The game resumed, with Barcelona ultimately defeating Espanyol 2-0, securing the La Liga championship for the season through a goal by Lamine Yamal.
