Boston Legacy FC Reveals Official Team Crest

Boston Legacy FC, the newest expansion team in the National Women`s Soccer League (NWSL), has officially unveiled its team crest. This comes as part of their rebrand ahead of joining the league as the 15th club. Legacy FC is scheduled to begin competing alongside the other expansion side, Denver NWSL, during the 2026 regular season.

The club had initially presented preliminary branding in October 2024. However, this was met with significant public criticism and backlash, leading the club to relaunch under the new name, Boston Legacy FC. The official reveal of the new crest, team colors, and overall branding took place on Saturday.

This crest is another step in building a new sporting legacy in Boston. Swans encompass our core club values of integrity, grit, and style. They are famously loyal, relentless in defending their territory, and iconic residents of our waterways and green spaces.

We are excited to see our fans and players wearing this incredible crest when we kick off in 2026 at Gillette Stadium, and continue to build towards the future with our home field of White Stadium in partnership with the City of Boston.

The club`s crest, featuring green, black, and white as its primary colors, was designed by graphic designer Matthew Wolff over a five-month period. The design prominently features a swan as the central element. Eight feathers are included within the badge, symbolizing the original eight teams of the NWSL, a group that included the former Boston Breakers team which folded before the 2018 season following financial difficulties. The angles incorporated into the swan`s wings are intended to reflect the architecture of Boston`s iconic Zakim Bridge.

Although the club is currently working on renovating White Stadium to serve as its future home ground, delays in the project mean that Boston Legacy FC will play its inaugural 2026 season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. This will make Boston Legacy the first professional women`s soccer team to play its regular season matches at the NFL facility. The team anticipates moving into White Stadium for the start of the 2027 season.
