Despite their dominance in the Bundesliga, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany is facing squad depth issues due to a series of injuries. Jamal Musiala is the latest player to be ruled out, suffering a muscular injury in the match against Augsburg. He will be unavailable for both legs of the quarterfinal.
Musiala joins a list of absentees including Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Manuel Neuer. Inter manager Simone Inzaghi also addressed player fitness in his pre-match press conference, mentioning doubts surrounding Hakan Calhanoglu and Federico Dimarco. “Bastoni and Calhanoglu trained with the team and are being assessed. Dimarco trained separately. Lautaro Martinez was initially planned for only the first half against Parma but played 70 minutes. He is fit and expected to play against Bayern.”
