Following her impressive victory at the WTA 1000 Miami Open presented by Itaú, Aryna Sabalenka has claimed the coveted top position in the PIF Race to the WTA Finals Leaderboard.
The 26-year-old tennis star has had an exceptional season, reaching four finals already. Her achievements include winning the WTA 500 Brisbane International presented by Evie and finishing as runner-up at both the Australian Open and the WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
Sabalenka`s dominant performance in Miami, where she won the title without losing a single set, earned her 1,000 valuable points. This victory propelled her past Madison Keys to secure the No. 1 ranking in the Race to the WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF.
Jessica Pegula, who Sabalenka defeated in the Miami final, also significantly improved her position on the Leaderboard, moving up three spots to No. 5.
In doubles competition, Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend continue their strong performance, maintaining their lead on the Leaderboard after reaching the semifinals in Miami. Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider have risen to No. 2, celebrating their first WTA 1000 doubles title after winning in Miami.
The WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF will feature the top 8 singles players and doubles teams from the PIF Race Leaderboard. The eighth spot in singles and doubles is reserved for a Grand Slam winner ranked between No. 8 and No. 20, if applicable. These elite athletes will compete in a round-robin format for the prestigious WTA Finals Billie Jean King Trophy (singles) and the WTA Finals Martina Navratilova Trophy (doubles).
