World No. 2 Iga Swiatek, the reigning champion, is set to compete for her fifth Roland Garros title next month. All of the WTA Top 100 players are expected to participate in this major clay-court event.

The official entry list for the second Grand Slam of the year was released on Tuesday. Swiatek will face stiff competition from players eager to claim their first Roland Garros title. These challengers include World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, former finalist Coco Gauff (World No. 4), last year`s runner-up Jasmine Paolini (No. 6), and Mirra Andreeva (No. 7), who made a splash last year as the youngest Roland Garros semifinalist in 27 years.

The tournament field also includes four players using protected rankings to enter the main draw. Leading this group is Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion and two-time Roland Garros semifinalist. Kvitova aims to play her first Grand Slam since the 2023 US Open, following the birth of her son last July. Sorana Cirstea, a former Roland Garros quarterfinalist, Jodie Burrage, and Yanina Wickmayer are also entered using protected rankings.

Burrage, entering with a special ranking of No. 85, is anticipated to make her debut in the Roland Garros main draw.

Alexandra Eala from the Philippines is also expected to make her Paris debut. Her impressive run to her first WTA 1000 semifinal at the Miami Open secured her direct entry into a Grand Slam main draw for the first time. Other notable first-time direct entrants include Australian 18-year-old Maya Joint, the second youngest player in the Top 100 after Andreeva, and Colombian No. 2 Emiliana Arango, who broke into the Top 100 after reaching her first WTA 500 final in Mexico earlier this year, despite previous Grand Slam qualifying struggles.

Currently, World No. 100 Robin Montgomery is the last direct acceptance into the main draw.

The initial alternates for main draw entry, should any players withdraw, are listed as follows:

  1. Yuan Yue
  2. Taylor Townsend
  3. Yuliia Starodubtseva
  4. Aoi Ito
  5. Wang Yafan
  6. Kaja Juvan (using a special ranking of No. 105)
  7. Rebecca Marino
  8. Anastasia Zakharova
  9. Leolia Jeanjean
  10. Solana Sierra
  11. Harriet Dart
  12. Aliaksandra Sasnovich
  13. Mananchaya Sawangkaew
  14. Nuria Parrizas Diaz
  15. Petra Martic

Eight wild card entries will be announced later to complete the main draw. The 2025 Roland Garros tournament is scheduled from May 25 to June 8.
