The second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs is now fully underway. Following Monday`s games, three teams have established significant 3-1 leads in their respective series. The New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves have joined the Indiana Pacers, each sitting just one victory away from advancing to the Conference Finals.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers are currently on the verge of elimination. Monday proved particularly challenging for Boston, which saw Jayson Tatum exit late in the game with what appeared to be a serious lower leg injury.
The Indiana Pacers have the first opportunity to clinch their spot in the conference finals on Tuesday. They are set to face the top-seeded Cavaliers, who suffered a blowout loss in Game 4 and are dealing with their own star player`s injury situation, as Donovan Mitchell`s availability for Tuesday is listed as a game-time decision. The schedule for Tuesday also includes Game 5 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, a series currently tied at 2-2.
This second round has featured a number of upsets so far. Despite this trend, the Thunder remain the overall favorites to win the championship (with current odds of +100). The Knicks now have the most favorable odds to win the Eastern Conference title (+120).
