2025 NBA Playoff First Round Schedule

The 2025 NBA playoffs are here, and the league has announced the complete first-round schedule. The Play-In Tournament began on Tuesday night, with the Warriors and Magic securing the No. 7 seeds in the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively. With these results, we now know six of the eight first-round playoff matchups: Celtics vs. Magic, Knicks vs. Pistons, and Pacers vs. Bucks in the East, and Rockets vs. Warriors, Lakers vs. Timberwolves, and Nuggets vs. Clippers in the West. All series start this weekend, and dates are set for every first-round game.

The postseason is considered the NBA`s second season. All the drama from the 2024-25 NBA regular season – including major trades, coach dismissals, social media and podcast disputes between players, and Ja Morant`s risky celebrations – is now in the past. It was just the introduction, setting the stage for the main story.

Now we are here. The 2025 NBA playoffs are upon us and are expected to be among the most competitive in recent years. The teams are generally healthy, with most stars ready to play, except for those who have been out for most of the year (like in Philadelphia). The standings were incredibly close this season. In the final week, there was a five-way tie in the Western Conference. The Clippers vs. Warriors game was the last of the regular season, deciding Los Angeles`s playoff entry and Golden State`s play-in spot.

While some clear favorites exist, the playoff field is largely open. There are about eight or nine teams that could be considered legitimate contenders. The Thunder, with the best championship odds at +170 according to FanDuel, and the Cavaliers were top teams throughout the season, but the Celtics enter the postseason as the current champions.

In the coming weeks, the 20-team field will be narrowed down to the very best. We will be covering every moment. Below is the schedule for the 2025 NBA playoffs, starting with the first round, which is now finalized. Follow our coverage and analysis of all the key moments from what is expected to be one of the most exciting postseasons the NBA has ever seen, right here.
