The Indiana Pacers have reached the Eastern Conference Finals once again. The Pacers eliminated the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday in Game 5 of their second-round series, securing their spot in the ECF. Despite a strong 64-win regular season, Cleveland`s season ended sooner than expected after losing three home games in the series.
This marks the second consecutive trip to the conference finals for the Pacers, who were the 4th seed this year. Last season, they made it as the 6th seed but were swept by the eventual champions, the Boston Celtics.
Other second-round series are also progressing. The Knicks and Timberwolves hold commanding 3-1 leads and are one win away from advancing. In contrast, the Celtics and Warriors are on the verge of elimination. Boston`s recent loss was particularly challenging, including an injury to Jayson Tatum, later confirmed as a torn Achilles.
The second round has featured several upsets so far. Despite this, the Oklahoma City Thunder, currently tied 2-2 in their series against the Nuggets, remain the favorites to win the championship. Meanwhile, the New York Knicks now have the best odds to win the Eastern Conference.
