The aspirations of 59 basketball prospects from colleges and international leagues were realized during the two-day 2025 NBA Draft held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The event commenced with the Dallas Mavericks selecting Cooper Flagg as the first overall pick and concluded with the Memphis Grizzlies choosing Jahmai Mashack from Tennessee at pick number 59.
However, several prominent names were not among the selected players. Mark Sears, an All-American guard from Alabama, was one of the most notable omissions. Sears emerged as a top national player after transferring from Ohio in 2022. Another player not picked was St. John`s standout wing RJ Luis Jr., who was named Big East Player of the Year. Luis, notably benched by coach Rick Pitino during the NCAA Tournament, had entered the transfer portal but ultimately decided to remain in the draft.
The highest-ranked player on the CBS Sports Big Board to go undrafted was Izan Almansa from Spain, who was ranked No. 40.
Kentucky`s Jaxson Robinson was another player who did not hear his name called. Robinson followed coach Mark Pope from BYU to Kentucky for his final college season. This draft marked the first time since 2009 that a player from Kentucky was not selected in the first round. Nevertheless, the Wildcats did have two players selected in the second round: Koby Brea went 41st to the Phoenix Suns, and Amari Williams was picked 46th by the Boston Celtics.
Arizona star Caleb Love, ranked No. 78 on the draft board, was also not selected. Love, a high-scoring guard, began his college career at North Carolina before transferring to Arizona in 2023, where he contributed to the Wildcats reaching the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament on two occasions.
Following the draft, several players who were not selected have reportedly already agreed to two-way contracts with NBA franchises. Many other undrafted prospects will have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in the NBA Summer League.
Below is a summary of the top prospects who were not drafted by the end of Thursday`s second round.
